JEROME K JEROME (1859-1927) became an actor and his first books, ON STAGE AND OFF and THE IDLE THOUGHTS OF AN IDLE FELLOW, were about the theatre. Turning to writing as a profession, Jerome published his most famous novel, THREE MEN IN A BOAT in 1889, with a sequel, THREE MEN ON THE BUMMEL in 1900. He died in 1927.
