Photographing Cornwall - Softcover

9780906720776: Photographing Cornwall

Synopsis

Cornwall is among the most beautiful and varied counties in Britain. The images in Photographing Cornwall capture some of its most stunning locations: cliffs, stacks and arches of the coastline; beautiful beaches; heather-clad moors; wooded valleys; ancient farmed landscapes, and the remains of an industrial past. Cornwall is pictured through the seasons and revealed in all its moods. This book will appeal to all who love Cornwall, and are inspired by its landscape. Photographers will appreciate the provision of technical details for the images, and hints on taking landscape photographs.

Review

`From the fields upon fields of bright, golden daffodils shot against a moody blue sky, and ancient ruins perched on high cliffs or in dank green forests, to achingly stunning beachscapes, pastoral settings and grandiose ocean views of stormy waves crashing against jagged rocks; Chapman successfully captures the many facets of Cornwall throughout the four seasons. ... as much an intimate exploration of the beauty of Cornwall as it is a sublime exercise in exceptional landscape photography'. --Outdoor Photography, July 2011

`Chapman gives some welcome tips on how to achieve stunning photographs. ... the most amateur of photographers will be able to improve results'
--Tavistock Times Gazette, 16.06.11

'David Chapman is a well-known name... editors have willingly used his considerable photographic abilities... They [the photographs] are indeed superb... he explains briefly what drew him to create each image, the challenges, and the equipment and exposures he used. Alison Hodge has employed her customary expertise in producing yet another first-rate Chapman book!'
--Old Cornwall, vol XIV, no. 6, Spring 2012
