Signed on the front free endpaper by the author with a dedication to Howard Erskine-Hill (Professor Howard Erskine-Hil was a Fellow of Pembroke College in Cambridge). The author has also made on initialed correction to the text on page 19. The boards are clean and unmarked. Slight browning to the pages which are otherwise unmarked. The jacket has a little fading to the spine which has two small closed tears at the top on either side - a one and a half inch piece of brown paper has been glued to the reverse to reinforce the jacket - and some edge rubbing.
