"Mark S. Schwartz has done it again! The new third edition of Biofeedback provides an excellent update to the classic text. Schwartz and his new coeditor, Frank Andrasik, have produced an encyclopedic and up-to-date overview of biofeedback principles and applications. New chapters introduce emerging areas of biofeedback therapies, including chapters on heart rate variability biofeedback, pediatric headaches, general pediatric applications, and applications to sports and the performing arts. Four chapters now describe EEG neurofeedback applications, including a complete overview of the area. This comprehensive resource should be on the shelf of every clinician and researcher using biofeedback."--Donald Moss, PhD, Editor, "Biofeedback" magazine ""Biofeedback, 3rd Edition, " is the essential guide to contemporary biofeedback treatment. It provides practical, state-of-the-art treatment protocols and also includes the references to supportive research that are required by today's evidence-based clinician. As a rehabilitation professional, I found the chapters on neuromuscular reeducation, musculoskeletal pain, and pelvic floor disorders to be both interesting and clinically relevant."--Susan J. Middaugh, PhD, PT, Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC " "The new edition of "Biofeedback: A Practitioner's Guide" is the classic, encyclopedic text on the practice of biofeedback. The book is well organized, comprehensive, readable, and well-documented and should be on the bookshelf of every student, practitioner, researcher, and instructor in the field of applied psychophysiology."--"Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback" ., ."the most comprehensive and up-to-date text on biofeedback so far available. It is inclusive, encyclopedic and thorough. I cannot think of virtually any topic related to biofeedback that is not found here. This text is both clear and comprehensive. Complex medical systems and biochemical interactions are explicated in ways that are understandable to the uninitiated and yet not overly simplified for experts....Given the time, effort, size and levels of expertise of this book's many contributors, this is a bargain....For those wishing to study BCIA certification this text alone should provide the required knowledge base. Any psychology graduate program with a behavioral medicine component will wish to use this text as a primary biofeedback resource. Anyone interested in biofeedback or wishing to learn more about it need look no further than this Edition....this is a superb text and will be a welcome addition to the library of anyone professionally involved in biofeedback."--"Child & Family Behavior Therapy"
