Other techniques treated in detail include hybridization in situ to chromosomes and transcribed RNA, newer and less conventional technologies, such as Randomly Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD), reverse dot blots, bacterial identification using magnetic bead and dipstick assays, and nucleic acid sequence-based amplification.
