This engineering handbook provides a basic guide for the design and development of microwave processing equipment. It begins with a general discussion of microwave applications and design philosophies, followed by chapters on microwave power sources, power supplies, and microwave ''plumbing'', typical applicators, materials of construction, design measurements and equipment, control systems, and microwave leakage and its measurement and control. Although the materials presented are applicable to both food and non-food processing, this volume will lean heavily toward the food area.
