This book is written for young pre-teens and teens alike, and presents a good overview of what an eating disorder looks like. We've provided first-person accounts--in survivor's own words--of what it's like to have an active eating disorder and the process one goes through to recover.We also talk about the influence of society and the media (TV, movies, fashion) on young girls and boys, in regard to being thin. It's easy reading, and includes quizes after each chapter so that the reader can find out if she or someone she knows may have a problem with eating and weight control. There is also a great glossary and list of resources for those wanting to learn more.
