He created a body of work of the English at leisure that influenced a generation of photographers. This authoritative monograph, produced in association with the National Museum of Photography and accompanying its major new touring exhibition, introduces the best of his photographs - many previously unpublished and beautifully reproduced from revealing new prints - with original documents and artefacts from the museum's Ray-Jones archive.
