Dust Jacket Condition: dj. First Edition. First edition and first printing. Hardcover. 131 pages. Oversized retrospective monograph that includes many of Weston's best images taken over his long career. Features a profile by R.H. Cravens. Includes numerous black and white images, chronology, bibliography, list of previous exhibitions and reviews. An about very good copy in cloth boards with some splitting to the internal front hinge and in an about very good dust jacket that is somewhat soiled and with some edge wear. His father, Edward Weston, expanded the medium with the credo that - the camera should be used for the recording of life, for rendering the very substance and quintessence of the thing itself. Weston is generally acknowledged as one of the finest printers alive. In this Aperture monograph, 100 plates of Weston's pictures are reproduced virtually to facsimile quality.
