He travelled from Montana to Nevada, Alberta to Oregon to compete in bucking horse competitions or to break horses for ranchers. On a given day he would ride 40 or more wild horses - that meant riding to a standstill. He competed at Pendleton and was latter inducted into the Hall of Fame there. 179 pages - incl. author's bio at back - illus. by B/W photo SECTION at center. Signed on ffep by author. Cond : Paper wrapper is cream coloured, lettering on spine and face is white. Colour photo cover graphic is of three wild horses. Light chipping at some corners and edges. Light creases, light soiling. Spine fine, colours bright, binding tight. Insig. marks on ffep by p/o. No tears nor folds. Quote (p. 42) : " A palomino stud with a free-flowing mane and tail appeared almost white under the moonlight. He kept the other horses back as he tested the air. A trace of wind was blowing toward the spring and the stud could not catch scent of Lew and kept coming. Finally the horses belonging to George Webb sensed the water . ." Size: 12mo.
