Synopsis

In Eagles, the latest addition to Ray Rosenbaum's popular "Wings of War" series, Ross Colyer returns to active duty in the Air Force at the tension-laden start of the Cold War. Now married to Janet Templeton, the widow of his one-time adversary Broderick Templeton III, Ross immediately draws assignment to the Berlin airlift, a hastily organized effort to supply the "free" Berliners after the Soviets slam an iron curtain across Germany's border.
Ross's assignment to the flight-test facility at Wright Field fulfills his highest career aspirations, but life for the Colyers becomes more complicated. Ross, working 14-hour days, is oblivious to Janet's distress over her waning journalistic fortunes and her frustrations with getting along with junior officer's wives. Left behind once again when the squadron is redeployed to another area, Janet's tolerance faces a difficult test.
The Cold War erupts into combat when North Korea invades its southern neighbor. Ross's squadron of F-80s is rushed to the scene to add firepower to the fray, just in time to face off against Soviet hotshot pilot Yuri Pavel, who flies the swift, heavily armed MiG-15. The war-torn skies south of the Yalu River provide the backdrop for intense aerial combat and the pulse-pounding climax.
