It explains the advantages and disadvantages of various software development lifecycle models, and suggests when to apply testing and when to use other, more cost-effective techniques. It also shows how to incorporate verification and validation techniques if your organization does not have a written procedure, and how to implement the inspection process. Focusing on practical solutions and including useful models which can be modified to suit the reader, this is a handy reference for all software quality professionals.
About the Author
Steven R. Rakitin has 25 years experience as a software engineer and software quality manager in a broad range of industries. He received a BSEE from Northeastern University and an MSCS from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has earned certifications from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) and Quality Auditor (CQA). He is a member of the IEEE Computer Society and the ASQ. He has written several papers on the subject of software quality and also teaches a course in Software V&V at Northeastern University. He consults with companies seeking to improve software quality and on time delivery.
About the Author
Rakitin has nearly 25 years of experience as a software engineer and a software quality professional. he is a Certified Software Quality Engineer, a Certified Quality Auditor, and a member of the IEEE Computer Society and the ASQC.
