About the Author

Mary Emily Ropes was born in 1842, in St.Petersburg, Russia to William H. Ropes and Ellen H. Ropes. Her father was a merchant in Russia. She spent her early years in Russia and later moved to London and then on to Wales where she spent her latter years. She was a well-known author of over 50 books. Mary Jones and Her Bible is one of her most popular books.
