Synopsis
This booklet offers a vivid retelling of the so-called parable of the lost son from Luke 15. But instead of the typical interpretation, which focuses on the prodigal son, the focus is on the character and heart of the father towards both his sons. The compassion and rejoicing of the Father at the restoration of his son is highlighted as a way to understand the character of God the Father. This booklet raises the question of whom we feel we can most identify with in the story and discusses the spiritual implication of that identification. It offers a fresh perspective on a well-worn story and a glimpse at the joy at the heart of God as he works in our lives.
