Written for general usage, this book examines the subject of active imagination - a technique developed by Jung in which the imaginal world is entered deliberately while awake in order to gain self-knowledge and resolve conflicts. The author presents a description of the results of her work with active imagination with one of her analysands, a process which began with a dream and yielded a personal myth. The myth born of this inward process is here recounted in detail with amplification and commentary and illustrated with photographs of the sculptures made by the client as part of the process. In addition to the commentary, the author provides material on the technique and nature of active imagination, a section answering some often-asked questions about it, and a glossary of relevant Jungian terms, making this an accessible introduction to a method of self-discovery.
