About the Author

Peter Nicholson and Janet Parker have been instrumental in promoting the Rhodesian Ridgeback in the show ring and as a family pet.
Peter first owned a Ridgeback in 1961, but it was the more recent arrival of Gambo, who became the youngest Ridgeback to win Best of Breed at Crufts, that laid the foundations for the well-known Trendsetter dogs. Peter is a well-respected Championship Show judge in the UK and overseas.
Janet's first Ridgeback puppy was bought in 1972, and Ch. Ridinghills Juliana was highly successful in the show ring and as a brood bitch. Her Champion progeny are known worldwide, and Ch. Rejan Mandingo and his son have won the annual Top Sire award. Janet is an international judge, who judged Crufts in 1994, and who has shown her Champion Rejan dogs on the continent.
