9780876031841: Secret Encounters: Addressing Sexual Behavior in Camp Settings

Synopsis

"Camp directors, staff, and youth workers will learn to recognize and address the most commonly reported sexual incidents in this guide to nonpredatory sexual issues and behaviors in camp settings. Issues addressed include children with sexual knowledge beyond their maturity level, campers who have had previous sexual encounters, and incidents involving sexual behaviors between staff or in front of campers. While being careful not to offer any canned solutions or step-by-step plans, this guide offers camp directors direction and guidance on how to minimize sexual incidents, create a safe camp community, and explore their own values to more carefully incorporate those values in the camp setting."
