Basing his work on a supply officer's diary which he started in the hope of having something to leave to his infant son should he not return, the author records the activities of the USN corvette HASTE on ASW and convoy duty on the Eastern Sea Frontier in 1943-1944. That diary, together with present-day reminiscences, anecdotes, declassified material and photographs, has become To Sea In Haste
