My guide to football cards is meant to be an enjoyable reading experience, in addition to being accurate and informative. For the collector and well-educated fan, football cards help us arrange the game in our minds and let us participate more fully as spectators. It's a worthwhile activity for advanced collectors and novices, kids and adults. I sincerely hope my book does justice to a great hobby. This beautifully illustrated first edition was originally published by Wallace Homestead Books and is itself a collector's item. The book reveals for the first time the identity of the player on the fabled "Anonymous" Mayo football card of 1893.
