The charters collected here, which were transcribed by the author from diverse sources, highlight the circumstances and motivations for going on Crusade, all summarized in an introductory chapter. Much of the material sheds light on the role of the Premonstratensians in preaching the Crusade: 24 of the 31 charters leave the estate to a Premonstrate
