There are 41 units using four dictation formats
* Partial Dictation
* Pair Dictation
* Prediction Dictation
* Dictogloss.
Each dictation is preceded by an introduction and vocabulary/pronunciation work and followed by discussion topics. Pair and small-group work is encouraged. Following the discussions there are an optional writing topic and a variety of other activities, including idiom/vocabulary work, role plays, and many cooperative learning activities.
The units can take from 20 minutes to an hour. This set includes an audio CD, read naturally by native speakers. Although giving dictation live in the classroom is effective and important, these recordings let your students hear a variety of voices and accents, and listening to recordings is useful practice for students who may be tested with recorded material.
