Synopsis
This book has been written to provide neurologists, neurosurgeons, neonatologists, neuroradiologists and individuals in allied fields with an understanding of those disorders which affect the central nervous system of the developing fetus. During the past decade, this field has benefitted immensely from the contributions of newer techniques for medical imaging, the tremendous strides in genetics, the advancement of biochemical and neurophysiologic diagnostic techniques, and the remarkable changes in therapeutic techniques in both medicine and surgery. As a result of these advances, appropriate management of many of these disorders can be undertaken in the fetus, in the newborn and in the neonate.
