Synopsis

Taking a unique look at the Oceania region through the lens of geography, this valuable collection spans 50 years of close observation and study of the emerging world of 20th-century Oceania and the Pacific Rim. Surveying the social contexts of countries like Fiji, Kiribati, and Papua New Guinea―at both village and government levels―this exploration puts these particular histories in wider contexts and examines the potential future of Oceania.
