Synopsis

A fun yet informative activity book for use in reminiscence work with older people. Covering the years 1930-1969, it draws upon memories and experiences of daily life, as well recalling major events and celebrities, in more than 600 questions and answers on news topics, entertainment, daily life and people. This is not simply a general knowledge quiz, as it is designed with the individual needs of elderly people in mind. The question can be adapted for use with all levels and abilities. Conversation is encouraged by providing questions which focus on everyday- life as experienced by people at the time. Many answers are supported by a wealth of background information which stimulates further reminiscence.

About the Author

MIKE SHERMAN is a graduate of Hull University. He has extensive experience of the educational requirements of special needs groups. Since specialising in the care of dementia sufferers he has been responsible for the management of a day centre for the seriously confused elderly which specialises in the provision of innovative stimulation pursuits. As a consequence Mike has been instrumental in the design of orientation and reminiscence aids. He is currently Chief Executive of the Association for Carers of the Elderly Confused.
