The book begins by describing the very first electric fuses and their applications, their later development, the introduction of standard specification and the spread of the use of fuses; and ends focusing on the updated national and international standards regarding fuses and the quality assurance and inspection methods used during manufacture to maintain the necessary high standards.

About the Authors
Arthur Wright was Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. His specialist expertise was in the fields of protective relaying and fuses.
Gordon Newbery has for over 40 years served the International Fuse Industry. He was Technical Director for Brush/Hawker Fusegear Limited and subsequently for the Bussmann Division of Cooper Industries in Europe.
