The main purpose of this text is to exploit finite element analysis (FEA) as a standard tool in academic education. A number of examples are used to illustrate how to use this technique to solve partial differential equations (PDEs) occuring in various fields of classical physics, including: problems concerning gravity; electricity and magnetism; heat conduction; elastic deformation; and liquid flow.
