Synopsis
This introduction, designed for students, concentrates on getting the language of Pascal to do something - in other words, how to use the language, not why it should be used. The book sets out to demonstrate the syntax of the Pascal programming language using the UCSD standard, with special attention given to Borland's Turbo Pascal. It shows the reader how to perform the various statements available to the Pascal programmer through examples and student-centred activities. After reading the text for each objective, the reader can try out the given examples, tackle the exercises for that particular objective and then check the answer at the back of the book. Each subsequent objective builds upon the skill just imparted.
