L. Frank Baum was an American author best known for writing the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its sequels. Baum was a prolific writer as he is credited with over 50 novels, 200 poems, and close to 100 short stories. Baum remains one of the most widely read and influential writers in the fantasy fiction genre. Rinkitink in Oz is the tenth novel in the Wizard of Oz series. Much of the action takes place on the islands of Pingaree, Regos, and Coregos. The Lost Princess of Oz is the eleventh novel in the Wizard of Oz series. The action starts off with Dorothy visiting with her friends in Emerald City and noticing that Ozma is not in her chambers. The Tin Woodman of Oz is the twelfth novel in the Wizard of Oz series. The book presents a back-story from the Wonderful Wizard of Oz as the Tin Woodman is reunited with his sweetheart Nimmie Amee.

About the Author

Frank L. Baum (1856-1919) was born in New York. He enjoyed making up stories, particularly for his own children. <I>The Wizard of</I> <I>Oz,</I> based on their favourite bedtime story about a land of Oz<I>,</I> was published in 1900 and it immediately became a huge international success. He wrote several sequels and numerous other kinds of books under a pseudonym.
