Synopsis
A photographic and descriptive coverage of the signalling and signal boxes of British Rail's London Midland region. Much of this equipment has survived from the old LMS Railway and its predecessors, including the LNWR, Midland and Lancashire and Yorkshire Railways. The book details all aspects of the railway signalling with particular emphasis on signal boxes. Semaphore and colour light signalling systems are described and illustrated, and important railway junctions such as Crewe, Chester and Preston are highlighted.
