Synopsis
The North Devon Line runs from Exeter to Barnstaple and is now the only surviving part of the once-extensive railway system which used to serve the region. The 39-mile long line has had a fascinating and, at times, unusual history, which is documented here from the earliest proposals through to the present day. Included are details of the motive power used, the freight and passenger services over the years together with a detailed description of the line, its stations and structures.
