This book covers 31 selected artists, and offers a critical commentary on each one, followed by a checklist of the books they contibuted to. More detailed bibliographic information is included in an index of illustrated books arranged by author. This index also contains locations of copies in public collections in the UK, USA and Australia. The index of magazine illustrations, arranged chronologically within each periodical, gives the the precise date and position of all the maagazine designs mentioned.
