This is an introductory book and no background in microwave technology is needed, although some elementary electronic experience is assumed. The mathematics required are little more than ordinary algebra. Organization of the book is straightforward. Brief reminders and technical explanations of those facets of electronics importance or an appreciation of microwaves are followed by chapters on microwave generators and amplifiers. This leads on to the practical uses of microwaves in communications generally mobile communication and television. Finally we look at radar and heating. of course not forgetting to include some notes on the domestic microwave cooker. A book, not for the expert, but for all others who are interested in electronics and feel there is more to microwaves than just cooking.
