About the Author

Gill Budgell has 25 years experience in education; teaching, providing training around the world and now working as a consultant publisher, researcher and writer. She has a first class degree in English and Education and a distinction in RSA Diploma in TESL. She taught as a primary teacher developing an early interest in the needs of bilingual pupils in her London-based classroom and later became a Language Adviser. And so a life-long interest in language teaching and learning began. Gill continues to specialise in early years and primary literacy issues including a specialism in phonics, the needs of bilingual pupils and motivating reluctant readers.
