Synopsis
The third edition of this atlas is virtually a new book. The format has been redesigned to allow for larger-size illustrations, which have been increased in number and are mostly new. The text has been rewritten and expanded, and is now juxtaposed to each illustration for ease of reference. The general arrangement of the contents has been retained, with a chapter on each of the main systems or organs of the body. There is also an introductory chapter demonstrating the more important reactions of the tissues in disease and teaching the basic language of histopathology. Most of the conditions covered are common or fairly common diseases, but examples of rare lesions have been included where they illustrate a pathological process with particular clarity. A comprehensive index has been provided. Intended primarily for undergraduates, this atlas will also prove useful to postgraduates training in pathology or another clinical discipline.
