This survey describes the current provisions for race relations training in the UK and discusses the extent to which this training meets the needs expressed by employers in both the private and public sectors. The research includes interviews with providers of training and representatives of organizations where training has taken place, and the results of a telephone survey that contacted large firms to ascertain their training needs. The report sets out what type of training is available, analyzes the differing objectives that organizations use race relations training to achieve, and discusses the role of training in obtaining the goals of equal opportunities and race equality.
