Now ninety-seven years old, Hans Feibusch is the only known survivor of those artists exhibited in Hitler's 'Degenerate Art' exhibition of 1937. After emigrating to London in 1933 in the wake of the Nazi persecution of the Jews, Feibusch soon established himself as the driving force behind the revival of mural painting in British churches during the 1930s and 1940s.

Feibusch has always moved independently of contemporary art movements, seeking inspiration instead from the Classical world and the Renaissance.
