Synopsis
This book is not a history of flying, although since supersonic flight cannot be divorced from aviation in general, much of the background.history is necessarily included. It is a refreshing approach , when national achievements tend to be underrated orforgotten, the author has chosen to forgo a broad and perhaps superficial treatment and to concentrate insted upon a more detailed study of the British contribution to progress, culminating in Concorde, and the result is a story which is well worth telling.
