Synopsis
Towards the end of 1986 the Institution of Chemical Engineers decided that there was a need for a book giving general advice on safety and loss prevention matters to graduate engineers in the early years of their careers. This is it. All but one chapter is written in sections corresponding to the phases of a major project with guidance given in the most appropriate section. The other chapter deals with common failings and advice in overcoming them.
