This volume argues that the key to long-term success in overcoming employee absence lies in creating an attendance culture. Evans and Palmer examine the causes of absence, the disciplinary and legal frameworks, and show how to develop appropriate policies and strategies to achieve low absence rates. Features include: up-to-date guidance on the legal aspects of discipline, dismissal and absenteeism; incorporates important recent research on absence; and case studies from Iveco Ford Trucks, Lewisham Council and the Royal Mail. Effective corporate initiatives and processes are the bedrock of successful organizations; the "Developing Practice" series provides manager with essential frameworks to identify, formulate and implement the best policies and practice in the management and development of people.
