The author has collected together a wealth of coincidences in all sorts of circumstances; some playful, some hilarious and some dramatic.
In the beginning of the book the author asks what exactly is coincidence. At the end of the book a tentative answer is given.
The photograph shows the author standing by the door that, after an evening of very fortunate coincidences, was left unlocked by a drunken housekeeper one night, thus saving the author's life.
