Intended as a basic, practical manual for building all plank-on-frame models, this book takes as its example the Royal Navy's two-masted sloop, "Cruiser" of 1752. It leads the reader through every stage of building a model from preliminary research, through taking off lines, to the construction of the model and eventual display. Photographs of the author's model, taken during its building and explanatory line drawnigs are used extensively to describe each stage of the process.
