Synopsis

The author discusses the qualities necessary in the instructor, the facilities, horses and equipment, the psychology of the pupil, as well as preparatory work and a progressive lesson plan. Difficulties are analysed and errors corrected, course building and cross-country riding are included as is sensible advice on falls. The author provides a solid grounding from which the pupil can progress with confidence to an advanced level of jumping with the emphasis on safety and harmony. This book will prove to be of great benefit to the pupil as well as the instructor.

About the Author
Martin Diggle has achieved success in all of the major competitive disciplines and is involved in the training of both horses and riders. He is the author of Riding from Scratch, Riding Over Jumps, Riding Cross-Country, Teaching the Mature Rider, and joint author of Riding a Dressage Test. He is also the series compiler of the highly successful Masters of Equitation series.
