First edition (as stated upon copyright page). xii, 156 pages. Hardcover: H 24.75cm x L 28.75cm. Dust jacket lightly rubbed; light soiling and several small stains to rear panel which also has short tear at top right; slight sunning along spine; front flap is not price-clipped; several stains to dj's blank verso. White cloth with bright gilt stamped lettering to front board and spine. Staining to text block's top edge with leaves shallowly affected at their top margins. Baton Rouge, Louisiana museum bookstore ticket at front free endpaper's top right; interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. Else a very good copy in a very good dust jacket. Mostly double-column text with left columns in English and right columns in French, the latter being translated by Georges and Jacqueline Planel. With Foreword by Floyd Sonnier. Features a total of 123 illustrations - color plates (including frontispiece) as well as b/w drawings - completed by George Rodrigue between 1969 and 1976 among which is a small sketch of Tiffany, the future subject of the artist's "Blue Dog" paintings. Laid-in at front endpapers are two promotional sheet for Baton Rouge museum; laid-in at rear endpapers are magazine clippings regarding various Rodrigue prints and books.
