The first new book from acclaimed bathroom design company Waterworks in fifteen years, The Perfect Bath--like Michael S Smith's Kitchens and Baths-- will appeal to discerning homeowners looking for upscale visual inspiration and design advice, and well as professionals who will use it as a sourcebook and client guide. The competition consists primarily of generic compilations of bathroom design ideas, without the point of view, high-end design, or platform that Barbara Sallick will bring to her book.
A chic, polished guide to creating the dream bathroom from the co-founder of Waterworks, including engaging interviews with top designers, sublime imagery, and practical advice for homeowners.

Barbara Sallick is an originator of and sought-after authority on The American Bath Style. She co-founded Waterworks--the the premier luxury brand of bath fittings, fixtures, furniture and accessories--with her husband in 1978 and serves as the company's senior vice president of design. As the arbiter of Waterworks' influential design aesthetic, Barbara oversees a range of creative product decisions. Acting as a company spokesperson, Barbara presents design and product lectures at top architecture and design firms across the country. She writes a popular weekly blog, The Perfect Bath, that offers design ideas and inspiration, and is also the author of Waterworks: Inventing Bath Style (2001). She is the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art and is a trustee of Wheelock College, where she received her B.A. She attended graduate school at Columbia University, and was an associate, under Charles Montgomery, at the department of American Decorative Arts at Yale University Art Gallery.
A chic, polished guide to creating your dream bathroom, including engaging interviews with top designers and practical advice for homeowners. Whether you call it your sanctuary, retreat, oasis, or spa, the bath is unlike any other room in the house. It can be the most private and indulgent of spaces or a simple, public one in which guests need to feel comfortable. Today's bath is an expression of personal style and priorities and the luxurious focal point of sophisticated interiors. Creating the perfect bath has become an obsession for homeowners and designers. Yet perhaps no room in the house requires as much forethought and planning as the bath. In The Perfect Bath, Barbara Sallick explores the process of designing a bathroom in great detail and with beautiful images. She shares exquisite, favorite, and esteemed baths, talks with top designers-including Suzanne Lovell, Pamela Shamshiri, Thomas O'Brien, Lee Mindel, Gil Schafer, Tim Clarke, and Steven Gambrel-about their work, and offers important, how-to advice for homeowners. Combining evocative, informative photography with an authoritative, engaging narrative, The Perfect Bath will be an essential, lasting resource.
