Synopsis

The 'Clements' checklist of the birds of the world is probably the best known of the various lists published in recent years. Now in its fifth edition, it covers subspecies for the first time. About the Author

James F. Clements has been an ardent conservationist and consummate birder for over half a century. He is one of a handful of naturalists to have seen and identified over 7,000 species of birds in their natural habitat. He currently serves on the board of directors of the San Diego Museum of Natural History and is a former director of RARE Center for Tropical Bird Conservation and the Western Foundation of Vertebrate Zoology.
