Elles ont pour but d'aider le microscopiste tablir avec certitude la prsence de parasites dans les selles, qu'il s'agisse de minuscules kystes de protozoaires ou de gros oeufs d'helminthes, et de les identifier correctement. A ces fins, les planches comprennent des instructions pour le laboratoire ainsi que des images de haute qualit. Les microphotographies montrent les carac-tristiques diagnostiques de chacun des parasites tels qu'ils apparaissent dans diffrentes prparations et sous des grossissements diffrents. Chaque microphotographie est imprime avec un trait de mesure et s'accompagne d'une brve lgende explicative qui appelle l'attention sur les caractres distinctifs et aide confirmer le diagnostic.
