About the Author
Rumer Godden (1907&;98) was born in England, began writing fiction as an adult living in India, and continued a successful writing career after moving back to England. She is the author of many novels , including In This House of Brede, Black Narcissus, The River, and Five for Sorrow, Ten for Joy.
