Glen Martin Johnson is Associate Professor of English at the Catholic University of America in Washinton, D.C.  He is the editor of Letters and Social Aims, volume 8 of The Collected Works of Ralph Waldo Emerson, and co-editor of volume 16 of The Journals and Miscellaneous Notebooks of Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Ralph H. Orth is Professor of English at the University of Vermont.  He edited three volumes of The Journals and Miscellaneous Notebooks of Ralph Waldo Emerson and was chief editor of The Poetry Notebooks of Ralph Waldo Emerson.
