Ann L. Curley, PhD, RN currently is the Nurse Research Specialist at Capital Health and Director of Education at the Institute for Nursing, Foundation of the NJ State Nurses Association. Until recently, she was Assistant Professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where she also served as Interim Assistant Dean from 2003 - 2005. While at UMDNJ, Dr. Curley taught undergraduate, MSN and DNP courses, including the DNP course: Principles of Epidemiology. Her undergraduate courses include Patterns of Community Health, Research, Intro to Pharm and Pathophys, Epidemiology and Health Promotion in a Multicultural Society. At the MSN level, she taught a variety of theory and research courses as well as Advanced Pathophysiology and APN Role Seminar. Dr. Curley has delivered many papers and presentations on Evidence-Based Practice, Evaluation and Motivation for Nurse Educators, Teaching Effectively, Ergonomics and the Aging Nursing Workforce. Her publications include Urban Health Informatics, an Evidence-Based Approach to Scheduling, and A Nurse's Perspective on Cuba (parts I & II). She received her MSN in Community Health /CNS track from the University of Penn (1980) and her PhD in Urban Planning and Policy Development at Rutgers, The State Univ of NJ in 1996. She authored a chapter in the upcoming Fulton et al textbook Foundations of Clinical Nurse Specialist Practice on Population-Based Data Analysis (in press).
||Patty Vitale, MD, MPH, FAAP holds multiple appointments, including Assistant Professor of Pediatrics & Emergency Medicine at the RWJ Medical School, NJ, Adjunct Assistant Professor, UMDNJ SON DNP Program and School of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology. Dr. Vitale also is a practicing ED physician and 'Attending Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician at Cooper University Hospital. Dr. Vitale did Post Doctoral Training in Pediatrics and in Community Pediatrics (both @ UC San Diego). She is certified by the Am Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Vitale has served on National and Local Committees for the Am Academy of Pediatrics in Epidemiology and currently is the National Newsletter Editor, Section of Epidemiology for the AAP. She served as Team Physician for the US National Gymnastics Team (2003 - 08) and as the Jr Olympic National Elite and NCAA Women's Gymnastics Judge and Gymnastics Coach. Her national and local lectures (43) and publications have focused on juvenile forensics, pediatric and adolescent health, trauma and homelessness. She has received many honors including 2004 AMA Foundation Leadership Award, 2002 Fellows Award for Excellence in Promoting Children's Health (Am Ped Assoc), 2002 Pediatric Leaders of the 21st C (Am A of Peds), among others.
