About the Author

Liza N. Burby received her undergraduate degree in journalism from St. John's University in Jamaica, New York. She is an award-winning author of thirty-nine nonfiction history, science, health, and social issue books for children from elementary school age through high school. Her articles frequently appear in national magazines and newspapers, including Parents Magazine and The New York Times. Currently, Ms. Burby is managing editor of Long Island Parents & Children magazine.
